ABOUT
An impractical literature degree led me to becoming a makeup artist. My interest in makeup and skincare started at 12 when I began experimenting with products in my mother’s well-stocked bathroom. Every drawer and cabinet was filled with solutions to help my teenage acne and I enjoyed trying every one of them. The first time I successfully covered a pimple I felt unstoppable.
After 1.5 years of filling out job applications, I went to Napoleon Perdis Makeup Academy to break up the monotony of applying for jobs. Makeup school was only meant to be a hobby to ease my frustration about a degree that felt like a poor decision. After completing my first look on a model, something clicked. Her smile to herself in the mirror told me this is what I was meant to do. My years of struggling with acne make me obsessed with being able to give my clients glowy skin. I went back to school and became a licensed esthetician to serve clients even better. For the last 10 years, I have happily helped people feel as confident as I did in my mother’s bathroom. Along the way, my chair has welcomed clients like Henry Winkler, Seal, and Vice President Kamala Harris.
